"Sometimes you have to forget what you feel and remember what you deserve. Strength is not measured by our resistence to forces against us, but rather by our perseverance through our own fears and doubts." Over the years I have developed a picture of what a human being living humanely is like. She is a person who understands, values and develops, finding life beautiful and useful; a person who is real, loves, is kind and is willing to take risks, to be creative, to manifest competence, to change when the situation calls for it, and to find ways to accommodate to what is new and different, keeping that part of the old that is still useful and discarding what is not. It's faith in something and enthusiasm and passion for something that makes a life worth everything. Happiness is not so much in having as sharing. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures. It is the same life that shouts in joy through the dust of the earth in numberless blades of grass and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers. It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth and of death, in ebb and in flow. I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life. And my pride is from the life-throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment. Courage, it would seem, is nothing less than the power to overcome danger, misfortune, fear, injustice, while continuing to affirm inwardly that life with all its sorrows is good; that everything is meaningful even if in a sense beyond our understanding; and that there is always tomorrow. Living, breathing, taking ONE DAY AT A TIME. Although we may not understand things for what they are during the moment in which they occur...ONLY TIME, living one day at time, then connecting and placing the pieces of OUR OWN MASTER puzzle together. Eventually everything making sense in our own mind and heart. These, then, are my last words to you: Be not afraid of life's experiences. Life is great and your belief will help create that fact. Things happen for a reason. "Sometimes what we want, is exactly what we need, sometimes what we need, comes when we are not ready"-G.A.
